St Peter’s School, Cambridge is seeking an organised, enthusiastic and people-focused Sports Convenor and Administrator to join our busy Sports Department.

Reporting to the Director of Sport, this role will coordinate an allocated portfolio of sports and provide administration across the School’s extensive sporting and extracurricular programmes. This is a varied role that combines sports coordination, administration, coaching and event support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with students, coaches, staff and the wider school community. 

While this position is advertised as full time, we may be open to considering part time hours for the right candidate.  

About the role 

You will play an important role in ensuring our sporting programmes operate smoothly and provide a positive experience for our students and sporting community. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Coordinating an allocated portfolio of sports and supporting the delivery of extracurricular and timetable programmes 

  • Coach a sport/s as part of your portfolio 

  • Managing sports administration, including draws, results, reports and SOCS updates 

  • Supporting coaches and managers with resources, packs and administration 

  • Assisting with coach and manager recruitment and contracting processes 

  • Coordinating Consent2Go and Health & Safety requirements 

  • Supporting sporting events, exchanges, Tournament Week, assemblies, colour awards and prize giving 

  • Compiling team reports for the School Chronicle 

  • Providing administrative support across the Sport Department and wider School as required 

The role will occasionally require evening and weekend work to support sporting events and activities. 

About you 

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, approachable and enjoys working in a busy team environment. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of people. 

Ideally, you will bring: 

  • At least two years’ experience in a busy administration or customer service environment 

  • Strong computer skills, particularly across Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 

  • Experience working with databases and generating reports, or the ability to quickly learn new systems 

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills 

  • The ability to prioritise, problem solve and work effectively under pressure 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Discretion, tact and diplomacy when dealing with confidential information 

  • A collaborative and flexible approach to supporting colleagues 

  • An interest in sport and experience in coaching would be an advantage 

  • A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence
