We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pool Operations and Lifeguard Coordinator to oversee the daily management, safety, and physical condition of our aquatic facilities. Reporting directly to the Strategic Facilities & Programme Manager, this role leads the lifeguarding team, maintains compliance with industry standards, and ensures operational efficiency across all aquatic spaces.
This is a part time position of 20 hours per week, working 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management: Recruits, inducts, rosters, and directly supervises the lifeguarding team. Organises and conducts quarterly training modules, emergency drills, and active poolside shift coverage to ensure optimal staffing and readiness.
- Safety & Compliance: Serves as the primary operational contact for safety protocols, emergency response, and compliance. Maintains Poolsafe expectations, Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and regulatory documentation.
- Facility & Plant Operations: Performs routine inspections and basic servicing of plant equipment—including pumps, filtration systems, heaters, and chemical dosing units. Ensures all emergency apparatus (AEDs, first aid units, rescue equipment) are maintained in optimal operational condition.
- Health, Hygiene & Sanitation: Coordinates structured cleaning schedules across pool decks, change rooms, amenities, and equipment in collaboration with school personnel and external vendors to ensure peak hygiene standards.
- Perimeter & Infrastructure Maintenance: Conducts hazard assessments and coordinates required repairs to perimeter fencing, security gates, and facility infrastructure.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Demonstrated experience in aquatic facility operations, plant maintenance, or lifeguarding leadership.
- Thorough working knowledge of Poolsafe guidelines, water chemistry, and emergency response frameworks.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of team supervision, rostering, and staff development.
- Clear, professional communication skills and a high standard of personal accountability.
